Holly Barton's drug problem
Troubled 'Emmerdale' character Holly Barton gets sucked back into doing drugs after a night out with her friend Roz
'Emmerdale's Holly Barton gets sucked back into doing drugs.
The troubled soap character - played by 22-year-old Sophie Powles - has been clean for a while to please her family, but kick starts her habit during a night out.
The actress explained: "Holly takes Ecstasy and has a nasty turn. She locks herself in a toilet cubicle because she doesn't know what's happening to her. Holly feels her whole world is going to explode. It's a bit like an out-of-body experience for her. The poor thing is just completely still panicking and crying."
Holly is lured back into taking drugs during a night out with Aaron and Jackson. While partying she spots her old drugs friend, Roz. After flirting with a man she takes two lines of coke and a pill and begins to have a nasty reaction.
Sophie continues: "Aaron's so frightened as he's taking her home to Emmerdale. In the taxi, she's a complete mess because of what she's had - which could really be anything. Holly promises Aaron it will never happen again, and he believes her. He covers for her with John and Moira, but isn't happy about keeping something like this a secret from them. Holly is most definitely an addict by now. Drugs have sadly become part of her life and she relies on them."
