Eamonn Holmes' text proposal
Eamonn Holmes proposed to now-wife Ruth Langsford in a ''romantic'' text message,s he has revealed.
Eamonn Holmes proposed to Ruth Langsford by text message.
The 50-year-old presenter - who recently tied the knot with his 'GMTV' co-host after 15 years together - has been praised by his new wife as the "most romantic man in the world" because of his way with words.
Ruth, also 50, said: "He is the most romantic man in the world. He's far more romantic than I am.
"While I show him I love him by cooking nice meals and looking after him, he uses words in the most lovely way. He's always telling me he loves me. His marriage proposal, where he sent me a text with 'Will you please marry me?' at the end goes to show just how romantic and sentimental he is. I call him my poet, because he's so romantic and eloquent."
Despite being together for such a long period of time, Eamonn insists he is more in love with Ruth than ever and still enjoys their professional partnership as much as their personal relationship.
He told Yours magazine: "I adore her - simple as that. I worship the ground she walks on and would be lost without her. I love her more now than when we first got together 15 years ago. I'm so proud to be with her. I think that must come across when we're on TV together. It's a privilege to do the job you love with the woman you love. It's not always easy working together - but I think we're the most truthful partnership on TV. There's no pretence and people respond to that."
