Gary Barlow tipped for Talent
Stephen Mulhern wants Gary Barlow to take over from 'Britain's Got Talent' if Simon Cowell quits as he thinks the Take That frontman would be the perfect replacement
Stephen Mulhern wants Gary Barlow to take over from Simon Cowell on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The music mogul has hinted he may step down from his role on the judging panel - which he currently sits on with Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden - and the 'Britain's Got More Talent' host thinks the Take That frontman would be the ideal replacement.
He said: "Gary would be brilliant. He was a mentor on 'The X Factor' and you could tell he cares and I think that's really important.
"He would be constructive. He's been there, he's done it, so he would bring a different side to things."
Former newspaper editor Piers could also be leaving after being offered a huge deal on US television and Stephen would like him to be replaced by PR guru Max Clifford.
He explained: "Max has similar experience to Piers. He knows the pitfalls."
However, Stephen isn't keen on either of them leaving as he thinks Piers and Simon work well together, along with Amanda.
He told The Sun newspaper: "If Simon leaves they need to pick the replacement very carefully. If Piers goes as well it's a real shame. They have got it so right and the balance is good."
