Piers Morgan weds
Piers Morgan and girlfriend Celia Walden have tied the knot at a small church in a low-key ceremony yesterday (24.06.10)
Piers Morgan has secretly got married.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge - who has three sons with ex-wife Marion Shalloe - tied the knot with long-term girlfriend Celia Walden in a low-key ceremony in Swinbrook, Oxfordshire, yesterday (24.06.10).
Celia - who is daughter of former Conservative MP George Walden and is also a journalist - wore a hand-made daisy-chain head band and white dress.
The wedding was a non-celebrity event and Piers joked that pal Simon Cowell was not asked to be best man because: "I couldn't trust him to turn up on time."
The couple left their church in a Rolls-Royce and had their reception in a local pub.
Fellow 'Britain's Got Talent' judges Simon and Amanda Holden were both absent from the ceremony, but sent their blessings.
Simon said: "I hate to admit it but I'm absolutely thrilled for the two of them. Having met Celia, I have no idea how he managed to pull this one off."
Amanda tweeted: "Piers got married today. I could not be happier for my lovely friend."
