'Emmerdale's' Marlon Dingle may have found love.

The ill-fated chef - who is played by actor Mark Charnock - could find that brunette vet Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) is the woman for him after a string of failed romances.

Mark said: "I love this romance because it feels like Marlon is on the cusp of something very special with a woman who likes him for who he is.

"I think Rhona could be the one for Marlon, but who knows? It's soapland, after all."

The actor revealed he "loves" the fact that his character is unlucky with the ladies, because it makes him more interesting to play.

He explained: "I love that aspect of Marlon - it makes him great to play. Joking aside, he's had an incredible amount of tragedy in his life.

"It's incredibly strengthening for people who come through that sort of tragedy, though - it means they deal with difficult situations better."

In the real world, Mark said he is closely following the career of on-screen ex-wife Sheree Murphy, whose character Tricia was killed off when the roof of the Woolpack pub collapsed on her head.

He told Inside Soap magazine: "I heard Sheree is in 'Hollyoaks', which is great - I'll definitely tune in to see her in action. She's a total one off and the show is lucky to have her.

"Sheree's one of my favourite people in the world, so I'm thrilled she's back on TV."
