Lloyd Mullaney's dangerous affair
Cabbie Lloyd Mullaney will be savagely beaten up by bouncers as he tries to protect new love Cheryl in 'Coronation Street'.
'Coronation Street's Lloyd Mullaney is set to confront his lover's husband.
When the cabbie - played by Craig Charles - sees sexy lap dancer Cheryl (Holly Quin-Ankrah) in the midst of an argument with her boss Mal and sporting a black eye he mistakenly confronts the club owner and gets beaten up by the bouncers.
However, in a twist of the upcoming storyline, Cheryl confesses the real culprit is in fact her violent husband Chris.
Despite Lloyd's insistence she should call the police over the attack, Cheryl instead asks the Streetcars driver to bring her and her young son Russ home, but Chris is jealously watching as she thanks Lloyd with a hug - and reacts by beating her black and blue.
Cheryl calls Lloyd and he manages to get them both to safety at his house, but her violent spouse quickly tracks them down.
Even though the unlucky-in-love cabbie has a difficult time ahead, actor Craig his alter-ego has finally found the one.
He told Soaplife magazine: "He sees Cheryl as somebody he could settle down with. he wouldn't be getting involved like this if he didn't".
