Pixie Lott rejects X Factor
Pixie Lott has said she wouldn't want to audition for 'The X Factor' despite being the show's latest recruit to cover for pregnant Dannii Minogue
Pixie Lott would never audition for 'The X Factor'.
The 19-year-old 'Turn It Up' singer admits she couldn't imagine being on the receiving end of the judges' comments, even though she is covering for heavily-pregnant Dannii Minogue on the judging panel of the show.
Discussing the programme - which will see her join Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole at the auditions - she said: "I never wanted to enter 'X Factor' because I like the whole creative control thing, and wanted to work my own way up. But if I'd kept going and going, wasn't getting anywhere and got really old, then I might consider it."
The British pop star found her own way to fame by answering an advert in The Stage newspaper, but had to wait several years before her first single, 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' - which went to number one in the UK charts last year - was released.
She added to The Guardian newspaper: "It was really frustrating because I wanted to release as soon as possible. When you're young, you just want to get out there. But I'm glad now it took longer. I was more prepared and experience, the material was stronger."
