Strictly dancer Patsy Kensit
Patsy Kensit and Matthew Wright have reportedly agreed deals to appear on the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Patsy Kensit has signed up for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 42-year-old actress has reportedly been offered £80,000 to take part in the BBC celebrity dance contest and has told friends it will be the "perfect tonic" to help her get over the breakdown of her fourth marriage to Jeremy Healy after less than a year.
A source said: "She knows this is a massive gamble but it's a perfect tonic to take her mind off the events of the last 12 months.
"She's nothing if not a fighter and will love the chance to shine in such a high-profile show."
If she agrees to appear in the competition, Patsy - who is set to leave medical drama series 'Holby City' in September when her character Faye Byrne is written out - will definitely be joined by 'The Wright Stuff' host Matthew Wright.
Other stars rumoured to have been approached about the show include Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, former 'GMTV' presenters Penny Smith and Ben Shephard and Richard Madeley have also been approached to appear.
It is hoped the prospective stars will please veteran host Bruce Forsyth, who reportedly issued show bosses an ultimatum, saying he would quit if they did not secure bigger names as competitors.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Getting Patsy on board is a great move by bosses and should please Brucie.
"She's a colourful character to say the least with a succession of high-profile exes.
"Not only that, but she's known to millions of viewers for her time on 'Holby City' and 'Emmerdale'."
