Kasabian have vowed to "never" record a World Cup single.

The British band insist they won't ever make a track to support England's soccer team at the sports event because they think all music made to mark the tournament "sucks", with the exception of Dizzee Rascal and James Corden's current single 'Shout'.

Lead singer Tom Meighan told BANG Showbiz: "World Cup songs suck. Dizzee Rascal's is good, Dizzee's is alright but the rest of them suck. Even if I was broke and was the last man on earth, and they said, 'Do you want to a write a soccer song?'I wouldn't bow to it. They're awful.

"'Three Lions' was good - it got the nation together and it was a bit of a vibe - but the rest suck."

Despite the group's dislike of World Cup music, they are very excited about the tournament itself, which kicked off today (11.06.10).

However, they are missing the start of England's opening match on Saturday (12.06.10) because they are playing a gig with Muse.

Tom said: "We're playing at the Stade de France with Muse on Saturday. We're going to miss the first half of England - but what can we do?"
