Former 'The One Show' host Adrian Chiles worried he'd made a ''terrible mistake'' when he quit the BBC for their network rivals ITV

Adrian Chiles worried he'd made a "terrible mistake" in leaving the BBC.

The presenter quit the network following a row which saw Chris Evans take over his role on 'The One Show' on Fridays, and though Adrian is delighted to be fronting 'GMTV' and sports programmes for rivals ITV, he admits he had doubts about his decision.

He told Radio Times magazine: "On the day I told them, yes, I had regrets. I was worried I'd made a terrible mistake.

"But the next morning, it just felt like the right decision."

Adrian was particularly upset that his departure meant the end of his presenting partnership with Christine Bleakley, but he is confident the Irish beauty - who is currently in negotiations over her own contract with the BBC - will work with him again in the future.

He added: "Me and Christine Bleakley worked well as a team, but I'm sure we will again at some point."
