Brian Fortuna has quit 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
The 27-year-old professional dancer is believed to have left the BBC One show over planned changes to the programme's format, which would have seen the American star stripped of his mentoring role and perform only as part of a group during voting.
Brian, who has been dating former 'Hollyoaks' actress Ali Bastian since they were paired together in last year's competition, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I really enjoyed working on 'Strictly' - I loved the fans and all the people I got to work with. But there are changes planned for the next season so I've decided not to return."
Other dancers also expected to lose their mentoring roles - where they would be teamed with a celebrity partner - include Matt Cutler, Ian Waite, Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova.
Brian is currently working with girlfriend Ali on the West End stage show, 'Burn The Floor' which will open in July.
Last month, Ali told BANG Showbiz Brian was "anxious" to hear whether he would be kept in the new series which starts later this year.
She said: "He's really anxious to hear about the next 'Strictly' series. They all are. They won't know whether they're in or not until later in the summer I think."
