Kym Marsh postpones wedding
'Coronation Street' actress Kym Marsh has postponed her wedding to Jamie Lomas because it would have clashed with the soap's 50th anniversary.
Kym Marsh has postponed her wedding because of 'Coronation Street's 50th anniversary.
The actress - who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap - has been forced to delay her nuptials to former 'Hollyoaks' actor Jamie Lomas after realising their ceremony had been planned for the same week as the show's landmark birthday in December.
She said: "The wedding was going to be taking place during the same week as 'Coronation Street's 50th birthday celebrations, which would have meant I'd have been very busy.
"I didn't want to be distracted from either the preparations for our big day or from work related to 'Corrie's 50th.
The pair now plan to hold off until next year, after Jamie - who left 'Hollyoaks' several months ago - travels to Los Angeles to audition for numerous American TV shows.
She explained to OK! magazine: "Jamie has got the chance to fly out to Los Angeles in January for pilot season, where TV execs are trying out new shows. It's a great opportunity for him but it would have meant that if we did get married in December, we wouldn't have a chance for a honeymoon.
"We'll make a decision about the final wedding date when Jamie comes back from America. He might even land a job out there! So the final date is still up in the air. All we know is we are very much in love and are looking forward to the day when we finally get married."
