The Scissor Sisters have revealed they always demand lighters and towels in their backstage rider when they play at music festivals

The Scissor Sisters' festival rider always has to include towels and lighters.

The band - who will play at the Glastonbury Festival this summer - insist the two items are essential for outdoor performances because of the unpredictable weather and more casual attitude to smoking.

Singer Ana Matronic said: "We have to have towels and cigarette lighters, because no matter what, someone will always need a lighter.

"And, just in case, a couple of lawn chairs to carry when I'm traipsing around."

Ana, 35, has her own tips on what festival goers should take with them to make sure they have a great time.

She explained: "Take a very large, clear poncho, because it protects you from the rain but you can still feature something cute underneath it.

"And take at least one wig so you can still have a fierce hairdo on the Sunday."
