Mel B had to "focus" to read her cue cards on 'Dance Your Ass Off'.
The former Spice Girls - who is known for her love of keeping fit, and has previously released her own work-out DVD - is so bubbly and "spontaneous" it took her a while to master the art of reading quickly in front of the camera on her US dance weight loss show.
She said: "Everyone knows when they hire me, they don't get someone serious. I'm so off the book. I'm used to being more spontaneous. I've had to really focus."
The 35-year-old beauty adores working on the programme and believes the show really works because of its "crazy" regime.
She told USA Today: "It's quite incredible to watch the transformation each week. People were losing between 10 and 15, 17 pounds each week.
"There's so much heart and soul on this show. They make me want to get on the treadmill. They're running 9 to 10 miles a day. Their workout regimen is crazy."
Mel has replaced former host Marissa Jaret Winokur on the second series of 'Dance Your Ass Off', which launches in the US next week.
