Lucy Benjamin's whammy year
'EastEnders' actress Lucy Benjamin is about to experience a ''double whammy'' as she returns to the BBC One soap just weeks after turning 40
Lucy Benjamin is about to experience a "double whammy" as she returns to 'EastEnders'.
The actress - who plays Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden)'s hot-headed ex Lisa Fowler - admits her screen return will be a hectic time for her as she comes to term with hitting 40 on June 25.
She told Hello! magazine: "It's a bit of a double whammy but, as they say, life begins at 40. I'm in a very good place at the moment and very happy with my life and my work.
"Marriage and motherhood have calmed me down, made me mellower and more rounded as a person.
"I don't feel any pressure to turn back the clock or look good because of the industry I'm in, in fact, I'm, looking forward to it. Getting older, wiser and more confident."
Lucy met her husband, oil broker Richard Taggart over five years ago. The couple - who embarked on a whirlwind romance and wed just nine months later - now have three-year-old daughter Bessie together.
