Konnie Huq is to be the new host of 'The Xtra Factor'.
The former children's television presenter - who is 'Blue Peter's longest-serving female host of all time - revealed she "can't wait" to get started on the spin-off show, with the first round of 'The X Factor' auditions kicking off in Glasgow on Wednesday (09.06.10).
She said: "I am delighted to be joining 'The Xtra Factor' team. It's amazing to be a part of one of the most popular and well-loved shows on television and I can't wait to get started."
Konnie, 34, will join the ITV1 show for its seventh series, travelling up and down the country to find the best musical talent in the UK.
Richard Holloway, head of entertainment at talkback THAMES, stated: "I'm delighted that Konnie is joining 'The Xtra Factor' team. I'm sure she will bring her own distinctive style to the show."
Konnie will replace busy mother-of-one Holly Willoughby, who started presenting daytime show 'This Morning' in September 2009.
