Kara DioGuardi hints at Idol Michaels
'American Idol' judge Kara DioGuardi admits Bret Michaels could replace Simon Cowell on the show's judging panel if the ''chemistry'' is right
Kara DioGuardi thinks Bret Michaels could replace Simon Cowell on 'American Idol'.
The songwriter - who sits on the judging panel of the reality TV show with Randy Jackson and Ellen DeGeneres - has increased rumours the Poison rocker could join them on the show next season after admitting she "really likes" him.
Despite having a "nice time" with the musician on the final of the reality show - where he performed - Kara admits the decision about whether he will join the show will depend on the "chemistry" between them all.
She told Parade.com: "I have met him once and he seems lovely. I really like him. Obviously, he's done stuff in music, but it will really come down to the chemistry. I had a nice time with him when I met him, but I'd have to see what it would all be about. And that's going to be interesting about the show next year; every time someone leaves, it's new chemistry."
There has been great speculation about who will become the fourth judge ever since music mogul Simon announced he would be leaving when last series ended, so he could launch 'The X Factor' in America.
Despite initial tensions between Simon and Kara, the pair eventually bonded and she is now sad to see him go.
She explained: "He's so funny. I'm going to miss that. He would make me forget that I was nervous.
"I don't know what happened that made him start to like me, but I'm just happy that he did. I thought he agreed with me a lot, which was strange. I was like, 'Why are you agreeing with me? What are you going to do to me? Are you going to eject me from the panel?' I turned to him at one point and asked him, 'Do you think I'm better this year, or am I still annoying you?' And he said 'No, you're way better. You're not as serious. You've lightened up a bit.' "
