Ryan Thomas' Corrie future
'Coronation Street's' Ryan Thomas has signed a £160,000 year-long deal to stay with the soap, which will see the actor feature in a host of ''dynamic storylines''
'Coronation Street' actor Ryan Thomas has landed a £160,000 year-long deal to stay on the soap.
The 25-year-old actor - who has two-year-old daughter Scarlett with former his former girlfriend and co-star Tina O'Brien - jetted off on holiday to Marbella, Spain after sealing the deal with executive producer Phil Collinson, which will see him feature in some "dynamic storylines".
A show source revealed to the Daily Star newspaper: "Phil's decided Ryan is part of his long-term plan for the Street. He's going to get some dynamic storylines over the coming months that will have viewers glued to their seats.
"Obviously Ryan's over the moon because he loves working on 'Corrie' and is excited that Phil has some big storylines in the pipelines for him."
However, the executive producer has apparently warned Ryan - who was recently prosecuted for leaving the scene of a car crash and failing to report the incident to police - to behave himself.
The insider said: "Phil's told him he needs to keep out of trouble. No slip-ups will be tolerated."
In December 2009, Ryan was arrested on suspicion of the assault of his former love Tina over the care of their daughter, before being released without charge.
At the time he explained: "I have not and would never assault Tina. The police are satisfied this was the case."
