'Britain's Got Talent' Lady Gaga impersonator Maxxie Oliver is planning a twist for tonight's (01.06.10) semi-final, and hopes to shine through without his Gaga persona
'Britain's Got Talent' drag queen Maxxie Oliver has promised a huge twist for tonight's (01.06.10) semi-final.
The transvestite hopeful - who impersonated Lady Gaga in his first audition for the talent contest - wants to convince the public he can shine without his idol's persona in the live episode.
The 22-year-old said: "It will show how I've gone from hiding behind Lady Gaga to Lady Gaga giving me the strength to become myself.
"At the end I hope to take the wig off - hopefully I can get through to the finals as Max Oliver."
Maxxie is hoping for the support of tonight's audience, as his family have disowned him because of his audition.
The impersonator said: "I haven't been in touch with my Dad for seven years and I got an email about three weeks ago.
"He said 'I've just seen your video. I've got to say I'm ashamed. Just to let you know, you've been disowned.'"
Other contestants Maxxie will be competing against in the semi-final include dancers Ruby Girls, Taboo, Michael Jackson tribute act Micahel Fayombo Junior and Senior, piano playing comic Kev Orkian, singer Neil Fullard, junior boyband Connected and dancing dog Chandi and her owner Tina Humphrey.
