Spelbound make BGT final
'Britain's Got Talent' acts Spelbound and Tobias Mead have gone through to the show's final, after Spelbound won the public vote and Tobias was chosen by the judges in last night's (31.05.10) semi-final.
'Britain's Got Talent' acts Spelbound and Tobias Mead have gone through to the show's final.
The 13-member acrobatic troupe received a place in the last stage of the competition by taking the biggest share of the public vote last night (31.05.10), while the 22-year-old street dancer was forced to face the judges for the second slot.
Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden unanimously chose Tobias who incorporated sorcery with a ball in mid air to his performance, impressing the judges more than 14-year-old singer Olivia Archbold rendition of Kate Winslet's 'What If'.
Spelbound - who are favourites to win the competition - were told by Amanda: "I would love to see you be ambassadors for Great Britain".
The remaining acts who competed in the first of five live semi-finals last night were camp comic Kevin Cruise, Bollywood dance group Threebee, wood-chopping pensioner Sean Sheehan and 'The Regurgitator' Stevie Starr, who shocked audiences by swallowing Amanda's engagement ring - before bringing it back up attached to a padlock.
Amanda, 39, said: "I'm so relieved to get my ring back but I've never seen anything like that."
The winner of the show will receive a £100,000 contract and perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
The semi-finals of the contest continue on ITV1 tonight (01.06.10).
