'Neighbours' bosses want Kylie Minogue to return to the show.
Producers on the show have reportedly put the singer - who played mechanic Charlene Robinson until 1988, when she left to launch her pop career - at the top of their wish lists to make a guest appearance to mark the Australian soap's 6,000th episode later this year.
Alan Fletcher, who plays Dr. Karl Kennedy in the show said: "Characters from the past will emerge. They should be going hell for leather in getting Kylie. It would be quite extraordinary. They'd have to get her a very good Charlene wig."
Producers may get their wish as Kylie has previously admitted a return to the show which made her famous would be "hilarious".
She joked last month: "Charlene would screech up in her souped-up Mini, which she's been working on all the time. It could be hilarious."
In 1987, Kylie won Most Popular Actress in Australia and Most Popular New Talent for her role in the soap.
