Rhyming knight Big Boi
OutKast rapper Big Boi has joked he is a ''knight in rhyming armour'' on his new solo LP 'Sir Luscious Left Foot'
Big Boi is a "knight in rhyming armour".
The OutKast star - who is preparing for the release of his second solo album 'Sir Luscious Left Foot' - has joked he "knighted himself" because he didn't have "the time" for Britain's Queen Elizabeth to bestow the title of 'Sir' on him.
He told NME magazine: "Luscious Left Foot is the knight in rhyming armour. I didn't have a chance to come over to the UK and have the queen knight me, so I knighted myself. Soul-funk crusader number one."
Big Boi went on to add that another OutKast album is on the cards once he and his hip-hop partner Andre 3000 have finished their solo projects.
He said: "Let's put the solo records out, then we'll see. They're going to want it."
The rapper stated that when he is working on his individual projects he misses "the energy" Andre 3000 has.
He explained: "It's comedy f*****g central. You can get creative with that. Put us in a room and we'll lay the whole room down."
Big Boi also said that the pair aren't worried about living in the shadow of their most successful single, 2003's 'Hey Ya!'.
The 'Roses' hitmaker stated: "'Hey ya!' was what it was. It opened us up to another market. But that's a great OutKast song. Our songs definitely do get the proper recognition."
