Big Brother start date confirmed
The final series of 'Big Brother' on Channel 4 will begin on June 9 at 9pm, as rumours circulate that a launch twist involving 100 contestants battling to be housemates is in store
The final series of 'Big Brother' will begin on June 9.
Producers confirmed today that the reality TV show - which is fronted by Davina McCall - will commence its last-ever run on Channel 4 at 9pm, where 100 potential housemates are expected to compete to enter the house.
A press release hinted: "In a twist to the usual format there will be more hopefuls than the house can hold.
"In front of the cameras and the baying crowd each of the hopefuls will find out their fate. Will Big Brother select them to spend a summer in front of the cameras or will they have to head home with their bag still packed?
"The new Housemates will be selected one by one and allowed into the Big Brother house to begin what could be the most exciting and unpredictable few weeks of their lives. Watch those first awkward moments unfold as they get to know each other and await the start of Big Brother's games."
The final Big Brother logo has also been unveiled, featuring the famous eye motif fashioned into wreath in a tribute to the end of controversial show.
George Lamb and Emma Willis will present 'Big Brother's Little Brother' this year.
Davina has previously spoken of her sadness for the programme's demise.
She said: "I thought it would go on forever. I thought it was a great format. But it's been a bit of a hot potato for them - and probably the most controversial show I've worked on."
