Alesha Dixon is youthful with Strictly
Former Misteeq singer Alesha Dixon first appeared on the ballroom dance show because she felt she had missed out by not going to dance classes as a child.
Alesha Dixon went on 'Strictly Come Dancing' because she never had dance classes.
The former Misteeq singer - who joined the ballroom dance show's judging panel after winning the competition in 2007 - decided to appear on the programme to help recapture her youth and have the experiences she missed out on as a young girl.
She told BANG Showbiz: "When I was a little girl I was always passionate about dance. I never went to stage school, and I never had that opportunity. That's why I did 'Strictly' - well one of the reasons why I went in - because I never had that experience. Part of my live show is about energy, about moving, and how we should feel - and basically feeling alive. So dance and music, I feel, go hand in hand."
Six months ago Alesha signed up as the Creative Director of L.A. Fitness gyms.
The brunette beauty is currently preparing to launch her Dance Fusion dance classes on Monday (29.05.10) - which combine the Latin moves she learnt on 'Strictly', through to the hip hop styles she shows off on tour.
The 31-year-old star has always loved exercising and even used to visit the gym to meet men.
She revealed: "I'm not going to lie, there was a time when me and my cousin went to the gym on specific nights because we knew the hotties would be in there doing weights. If you go there and you get to see a bit of eye candy, that's brilliant! I know there are a lot of people out there who think, 'I'm scared to go to the gym, because I'm conscious of how I look'. But the one thing I say is when people go to the gym, they're all on the same path. They're all in a positive state of mind and on their own journey."
