Carla Connor fights for life
'Coronation Street' actress Carla Connor tries to ''manipulate'' her ex-husband Tony Gordon as she fights for her life in the upcoming 'Siege' storyline
Carla Connor tries to "manipulate" her ex-husband Tony Gordon when he holds her hostage.
The 'Coronation Street' businesswoman - played by Alison King - has nothing but hatred for her murdering former spouse, portrayed by Gray O'Brien, but tries everything she can to win him over when he locks her in the Underworld factory with hairdresser Maria Connor (Samia Smith) and seamstress Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh).
Alison said: "She tries to use everything she knows about Tony against him - tries to play him, manipulate him and push his buttons, but when that doesn't work she realises that Tony's not all there. Carla just cracks and breaks down. She resigns herself to the fact that it's the end - she's fighting for her life."
During the upcoming 'Siege' episode of the ITV1 soap, the three woman battle for their lives as Tony and an accomplice lock them up.
Although it is not known who, two residents end up being killed following the incident.
Discussing whether Carla still has any romantic feelings for her former spouse, Alison said: "She has feelings of hate and disgust for him. She can't stand his guts. The love she once had for him has turned into complete revulsion. He not only killed the love of her life, he's tried to have her killed, too. On top of that, he's continuously lied to her and got with Maria. So yeah, she has no feelings for him whatsoever!"
