Craig Gazey is thrilled his 'Coronation Street' character Graeme Proctor "stood up" Rosie Webster.
The actor - who has portrayed the unlucky-in-love butcher in the ITV1 show since 2008 - is thrilled his alter-ego finally mustered the courage to turn down the man-eater, played by Helen Flanagan, after she turned down his advances for months.
He said: "I thought it was great that he stood her up! She's been awful to him. He's the nicest guy ever and she's basically been so horrible to him."
Graeme's romantic life has been on the up in recent weeks, as his friendship with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) slowly develops into a relationship after he helps her grieve for her father Joe McIntyre.
The soap star is thrilled his funny character's luck is about to change so naturally.
He said on the 'This Morning' TV show: "What is really nice about this is that the thing that happens with Tina is great - it's the first time that he actually isn't trying. He's being very genuine and trying to look after her."
