Kylie Minogue turned down Factor for Dannii
Kylie Minogue has revealed she turned down a role on 'The X Factor' out of respect for pregnant sister Dannii as she didn't want to step on her sibling's territory
Kylie Minogue turned down a role on 'The X Factor' out of respect for sister Dannii.
The 'Wow' singer was asked by Simon Cowell to be a judge on the ITV1 talent show while her sibling is on maternity leave but refused his offer as she didn't want to steal her sibling's thunder.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I was asked to do it, but there were two main reasons why I said no. One was I had my album coming out. And two, because it's Dannii's thing. I would be stepping on her territory and it would get too messy.
"You know that Kylie/Dannii thing again? It's her job, I don't want to come in and then we have that whole comparison when she came in to take over."
Kylie admitted Dannii - who is due to give birth in July - was given a tough time when she first started on the show but managed to turn it all around last year.
She said:"For two years she had a really tough time. People were really nasty about her. There were times when she got really down and then she turned it around. And throughout it all she didn't change - and that's what I am so proud of.
"She can be direct and it can rub people up the wrong way. But she has a big heart. That's what people have started to love about her."
