Kate Ford's Corrie relief
'Coronation Street' actress Kate Ford is relieved to be returning to the show for six months later this year in a secret storyline which will seemingly tie in with the show's 50th anniversary celebrations.
Kate Ford is relieved to be returning to 'Coronation Street' at the end of the year for a secret storyline.
The 32-year-old actress has revealed she will be coming back to the ITV1 soap towards the end of 2010 - when the show celebrates its 50th anniversary - although she has no idea what her bitchy alter-ego Tracy Barlow will get up to.
She told OK! magazine: "I'm going back towards the end of the year, which is exciting. It's for six months, but that's all I know."
The brunette star took a break from the show in 2007 when her alter-ego was jailed for murder and Kate gave birth to her son Otis James Roger - who she has with her husband Jon Connerty - in June 2008.
However, Tracy has been back on our screens recently for her grandmother Blanche Hunt (Maggie Jones)'s funeral and her bid to put Gail Platt (Helen Worth) in prison in exchange for her own freedom.
Kate is thrilled to have been asked back onto the programme because of the uncertainty actors face in their careers.
She said: "I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry. But there's no guaranteed job for anybody, whatever you do, and I realise that I'm in a very fortunate position.
"It's definitely scary to leave and take the chance but why not? You only get one life."
