Variety fan Stephen Mulhern
'Britain's Got More Talent' host Stephen Mulhern has admitted he doesn't want a singer to with the talent show because he believes a variety performer is better for the times.
Stephen Mulhern doesn't want a singer to win 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The magician - who presents spin-off programme 'Britain's Got More Talent' - believes a variety performer deserves to take this year's crown because it would represent current popularity.
He said: "I want a variety act t win the competition this year. I don't want to see a singer win because variety without a question is coming back and nowhere more so than on 'BGT'."
While Stephen isn't enamoured with this year's singers, he has a new favourite in impressionist Paul Burling.
He added to Now magazine: "Impersonator Paul Burling was brilliant. He's done the holiday variety circuit, which is what I did too. You learn your craft there because they're hard audiences to please.
"I've seen him in action, so I was aware of him as a performer. He may have gone down the same route as me but he's not having my job!"
