Corrie bosses search for hunks
'Coronation Street' producer Phil Collins is currently searching for two new hunky male stars to join the cast of the ITV1 soap
'Coronation Street' bosses are searching for two hunky new male stars.
Phil Collins, producer of the ITV1 soap, has revealed he is currently on the lookout for two new heartthrobs to move onto the Street - one as a good guy and another as a new soap bad boy.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I think we are missing a really good heartthrob. And there's also room for a new tough, good-looking villain."
'Coronation Street' is soon to be home to soap baddy Tony Gordon - played by Gray O'Brien - once again after he gets out of prison, where he was spending time inside for murder.
However, the actor is due to leave the show in the near future in a huge storyline which will see Tony try and get revenge on his former wife Carla Connor (Alison King) by taking her and some of her staff hostage in the Underworld factory.
Phil added: "Tony has been doing a great job but it's time for someone new.
"There are incredibly exciting times ahead for Corrie."
