Ruth Langsford to adopt?
TV presenter Ruth Langsford has revealed she could adopt a baby with her fiance Eamonn Holmes, even though she is 50
Ruth Langsford is considering adopting a baby with her fiance Eamonn Holmes.
The presenter - who has an eight-year-old son Jack with Eamonn, her partner of 13 years - admitted she is open to possibly adopting another child even though she turned 50 in March.
She said: "We did talk about adopting and that's still not completely off the agenda. You do realise how fortunate we all are and sometimes have those overwhelming feelings where you think it would be nice to share it."
The ITV star - who is set to wed her Eamonn this summer - admitted she is working hard to convince her future spouse, who has three teenage children with his ex-wife, they could extend their brood further.
She said: "I did always dream that I would have a partner and more than one child. But I was 42 when I had Jack and wasn't sure it was going to happen. Then when it did and it was all fine, I remember saying to Eamonn, 'Shall we have another one?' He didn't say no but he kind of made that face which was like, 'Blimey, that'll be five!' "
Despite her maternal urges, Ruth wouldn't want to have another child unless she had plenty of time to spend with them.
She said: "It would have to be right and you would have to be able to devote the time, which you can't always. I don't want to be a frumpy mum either. I'm very aware of having a young son and want to be able to run about with him."
