Louis Walsh wants Mel to judge
Louis Walsh has tipped Mel B for an 'X Factor' role, saying she would be a ''fantastic'' judge on the programme
Louis Walsh has tipped Mel B for an 'X Factor' role.
The Irish boy band manager says the former Spice Girls singer - who recently hinted she is to join the show to cover Dannii Minogue's maternity leave - would be his "first choice" to join him, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell on the judging panel because of her outspoken attitude.
He said: "Mel would be my first choice without doubt. I've always championed her both professionally and personally as I know she'd be fantastic - really opinionated and gobby."
Louis even claimed he thought the singer could do better than judge-and-mentor Cheryl - whose acts have won the past two series - if she joined the panel.
He added: "Mel would be just as good as Cheryl as a judge, if not better."
Meanwhile, 'The Whole 19 Yards' host Caroline Flack is being lined up to replace Holly Willoughby on spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor'.
The 29-year-old presenter is reportedly close to signing a deal to take over on the programme after beating off competition from Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh and 'The One Show' host Christine Bleakley.
A source said: Apart from crossing the Ts and dotting the Is, it seems Caroline is set to be the new 'Xtra Factor' girl. It is a big coup for her and she is set to be ITV's new golden girl."
Caroline flew to Los Angeles to meet with show chief Simon last week in order to finalise a £200,000 contract.
One pal said: "Simon gave her an audience in Los Angeles so it looks like it's all sorted.
"We're now 99 per cent sure that she will get the gig."
