Aaron Kelly was voted off 'American Idol' last night (05.05.10).
The 17-year-old singer - who performed 'Fly Me to the Moon' during Tuesday's Frank Sinatra themed show - was given the boot from the US reality singing competition after the public's votes landed him in the bottom two alongside Michael Lynch.
After learning his fate, Aaron told presenter Ryan Seacrest: "I've had a great time, I've had a blast."
Despite finding themselves in the lowest spots, the pair's performances had been praised as two of the best during the evening by the judging panel - consisting of music mogul Simon, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson.
However, Simon did believe Aaron's stage presence was not as strong as the song's original performer Frank.
He said: "Frank was the king of cool and he had a swagger, he had a believability. And if he was a lion, you were just a mouse."
The results came after a performance by Lady Gaga, who belted out her new single 'Alejandro', and a song from last week's mentor Harry Connick Jr.
The remaining four contestants - Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Casey James and Michael - will perform next Tuesday (11.05.10) for the show's Songs of the Cinema week.
