Richard Madeley for Strictly?
TV presenter Richard Madeley has hinted he may take part in this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing' as it's the only reality show he would do
Richard Madeley is set to take part in this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The TV presenter is tempted to appear on the BBC One show - after turning it down last year when he was working on his ill-fated chat show with wife Judy Finnigan - as he thinks it's the best reality show around.
He said: "The only one I'd consider is 'Strictly Come Dancing' because it's down to the contestants and what they make of it. All the other shows are shamelessly manipulated by the producers. I'm a control freak, so I'd hate it."
Richard's friends think he would be a great addition to the show and would challenge to win the trophy.
One said: "If he is ever going to do the show then it will be this year. He is still relatively fit so I think he would fancy his chances on the dance floor."
Bosses are said to be keen to shake-up the show after losing out in the ratings battle with 'The X Factor' last year and think Richard would be a great signing.
Producers are also reportedly thinking of axing some of the professional dancers - including Anton Du Beke, Darren Bennett, Lilia Kopylova and Erin Boag - in a bid to make the programme and appeal to more viewers.
A BBC spokesman said: "No decisions have yet been made."
