Chris Evans to replace Fired star Chiles?
Former 'The Apprentice: You're Fired!' host Adrian Chiles could be replaced by his TV rival Chris Evans, who is being lined up to present the business reality show
Chris Evans is being lined up to replace Adrian Chiles on 'The Apprentice: You're Fired!'.
The 44-year-old TV presenter is in talks to step-up to host the BBC programme - the spin-off show of the Alan Sugar's entrepreneur search show 'The Apprentice' - after Adrian left the network last month in a £6 million move to ITV.
His departure from the BBC, where he also worked on 'Match of the Day 2' and 'The One Show', was apparently initiated after bosses decided to replace him on Friday night episodes of the magazine-style show with the radio DJ.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "If Evans is good enough for the Friday 'One Show' he could be good enough for 'You're Fired!' and it would be a cheeky two fingers to Chiles.
"If Chris was appointed you can imagine how Chiles would feel, with two of his most beloved BBC shows going to his arch rival."
Adrian had presented the reality business show since it started in 2006, and hosted 'The One Show' from its launch in 2007.
However, Chris is not the only TV star being considered for the show as bosses search for a new presenter with a "big presence".
'Big Brother's Big Mouth' star George Lamb, broadcaster Sandi Toksvig, radio presenter Adam Shaw, 'Dragons Den' host Evan Davis, newsreader Sophie Raworth and BBC editor Stephanie Flanders are all being considered.
Janice Hadlow - BBC2's controller - said: "It's a big show for BBC2. We want somebody with a show like that together and someone who is quite a big figure."
