Stephanie Davis became the latest hopeful to be voted off 'Over The Rainbow' last night (02.05.10).
The 17-year-old Dorothy wannabe admitted she was "gutted" when Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to save fellow contestant Steph Fearon after both girls ended up in the sing-off after receiving the fewest votes from the public.
Stephanie - whose rendition of 'Mr Bojangles' on Saturday (01.05.10) was given mixed reviews by the judging panel - said: "I'm absolutely devastated because I wasn't ready to go - it was too soon. I feel I had so much more to give. But I've loved every minute of it. It's been an amazing journey and I've learnt so much. I didn't expect to get this far."
The remaining six hopefuls - Steph, Jenny Douglas, Sophie Evans, Lauren Samuels, Danielle Hope and Jessica Robinson - will be whittled down to four next week in a double-elimination special with one contestant leaving on Saturday (08.05.10) and another on Sunday (09.05.10) as they battle it out to play Dorothy in Andrew's new production of 'The Wizard of Oz'.
During Saturday's show Andrew also took the opportunity to congratulate Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead on the birth of their daughter, Betsie, earlier that morning.
He said: "I just want to send my congratulations to Denise and Lee on the safe arrival of little Betsie. We wish them all the best."
Denise was on the judging panel for Andrew's other talent searching shows 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?', 'I'd Do Anything' and 'Any Dream Will Do', where she met Lee when he won the role of Joseph.
