Jack Tweed cleared
Jack Tweed and pal Anthony Davis have been cleared of rape charges at Snaresbrook Crown Court today (26.04.10)
Jack Tweed has been found not guilty of rape.
The club promoter - the widower of late reality TV star Jade Goody - and his friend Anthony Davis were cleared off all charges after the jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court took just 15 minutes to reach their verdict today (26.04.10).
Jack, 22, had been accused of raping an unnamed 19-year-old woman twice at his flat in Repton Park, Woodford Green, Essex, while his 26-year-old pal was alleged to have forced her to give him oral sex.
The pair insisted the student, now 20, never gave any indication she didn't want to have sex after she and a group of pals returned to Jack's home following an evening at London's Embassy nightclub.
Giving evidence last week, Jack claimed he and the student started kissing when she asked for a pair of jogging bottoms to keep warm.
He said: "I couldn't really be bothered to walk around looking so I just said, 'Go and look for them.'
"She said, 'Come and show me. Come and help me look for them. I turned round and she was standing right behind me.
"We looked at each other and just started kissing. We made eye contact. I may have made the first move. She was kissing me back and had her arms round me, running her hand through my hair and down my back."
