Alesha Dixon's Strictly warning
Alesha Dixon has been warned she faces being axed from 'Strictly Come Dancing' if she doesn't toughen up and be more critical of contestants
Alesha Dixon has been warned she faces being axed from 'Strictly Come Dancing' if she doesn't toughen up.
The singer - who joined the judging panel of the show last year - has been offered a new contract to continue on the programme, but has been told by bosses she will be replaced if she doesn't become more opinionated.
A source said: "The new stars had better be prepared for a different Alesha. She has vowed to come back tougher than ever. She has said she will pull no punches.
"It was that or bosses were prepared to look elsewhere."
The 31-year-old star - who won 'Strictly' in 2007 - replaced Arlene Phillips, 66, on the judging panel last year in a move which caused allegations of ageism at the BBC, with sources claiming the 'Lipstick' singer was worried of upsetting people further by being too harsh on contestants.
The source added: "Following the backlash, Alesha was on the back foot from day one.. perhaps she feared she'd be attacked even more if she spoke out."
Alehsa has verbally agreed to a new deal for the show, but has yet to sign a contract.
A pal said: "She is determined to be better than ever."
