Tim Urban has been voted off 'American Idol' during star-studded special episode 'Idol Gives Back' last night (21.04.10).
The 20-year-old contestant - who was in the bottom three alongside high school student Aaron Kelly and Texan Casey James - was booted off the singing show during a fundraising evening which included performances by Elton John, Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox and Joss Stone.
The cheery singer missed out on giving his final performance when the programme - which was raising money for charity - overran by 20 minutes.
Ryan Seacrest presented the results from the normal 'American Idol' studio, while Queen Latifah co-hosted the evening from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.
American President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle opened the evening, which also included comedic appearances from Russell Brand, Jim Carrey, George Lopez, Wanda Sykes and Jonah Hill.
At one point, comedian George decided to turn the tables on the show's judges and critiqued their performances for the night.
The 48-year-old funnyman told panelist Randy Jackson to describe the acts using words other than "pitchy", and asked Kara DioGuardi to make sure she came up with her own thoughts.
After declaring his love for Ellen DeGeneres, George told those three judges they were through to the next round, while music mogul Simon Cowell must return to Britain immediately.
The evening ended after Randy teamed up with Mary J. Blige - who belted out Led Zepplin's 'Stairway to Heaven' - with Steve Vai on guitar, former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Orianthi.
The 'Idol Gives Back' events have raised £9.7m for charity so far.
