Cheryl Cole wants dignified divorce
Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to divorce her estranged husband Ashley Cole after the soccer World Cup tournament in July
Cheryl Cole is planning to "divorce with dignity".
The 'Fight for This Love' singer - who split from her soccer star spouse Ashley Cole in February following allegations he had cheated on her with several women - is reportedly planning to take control of legal proceedings in order to end her marriage amicably.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "There are no divorce lawyers yet, Cheryl wants to do everything on her own terms.
"She is speaking to Ashley, they are texting - she even calls him babe - but as much as she loves him, there is no way back. This is divorce with dignity, it is Cheryl's style.
"When it happens, it will be quick, quiet and painless."
The 26-year-old beauty - who is not planning to start proceedings until after the soccer World Cup tournament in July - is expected to keep the couple's nine-bedroom home in Surrey, South East England, and wants custody of their pet Chihuahuas Buster and Coco.
The source added: "Any divorce will be away from the public eye and swift.
"It will not be acrimonious and will likely be after the World Cup. All Cheryl wants is her home and her dogs."
