Roxanne Pallett's acting reality
Roxanne Pallett claims acting isn't as ''sugar-coated'' as everyone thinks, which is why she'd consider moving to America in order to find work.
Roxanne Pallett has realised acting isn't as "sugar-coated" as she once thought.
The former 'Emmerdale' star - who played sexy Jo Sugden in the ITV soap before leaving in June 2008 - has admitted she would consider moving to the US because landing a role in a good British TV show was very difficult.
Speaking at 'The Heavy' premiere in London's Leicester Square last night (15.04.10), she told BANG Showbiz: "It's not as sugar-coated as some people think. It's hard but I guess it's what we all want to do. I've kind of been away for a few months and I'm a little bit nervous. You kind of have to go off and do your own thing so I'm kind of enjoying just being a jobbing actress. It's a privilege."
The 27-year-old beauty - who most recently appeared in the reality show 'Dancing on Ice', where she came sixth last year - admitted she deliberately doesn't have any pets because she couldn't bear leaving them if she landed a role overseas.
She said: "I'm a British girl, I'm probably going to give it a bit more of a chance here first as I want to give myself a chance to earn my stripes. But obviously, if something came along... that's why I have no pets! So I don't have any responsibilities if I had to go away."
The actress also fears she would struggle with the pressure to keep in shape while in the US.
She added: "If I'm jogging, I'm only ever jogging to the chippy. There are pressures... every girl feels 'oh my god, 'I'm totally filling my jeans today,' but you know I'm just a normal girl, I can't do without my chips. I just buy a bigger size pair of jeans!"
