Declan Donnelly was left "petrified" by a performing parrot on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The TV presenter - who has a secret fears of birds - recoiled in horror after a woman turned up to speak to him and his co-host Anthony McPartlin after she performed on stage for the reality show.
The 34-year-old star - who is nicknamed Dec - was so terrified by the feathered cerature, he was forced to let Anthony, aka Ant, take over the interview.
A show source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Dec is absolutely petrified of birds.
"So when he saw the parrot coming towards him he knew he couldn't go near it.
"He backed away, with Ant having to do the chat with the owner. The parrot didn't speak, but it didn't need to - Dec hated it!"
This is not the first time the TV stars have been upset by an animal contestant in the new series - which starts on Saturday (17.04.10).
Earlier this week Ant admitted his "lowlight" of the audition process was when he was snapped at by a performing dog and followed around the studios by a pig in the same day.
He said: "My lowlight was in Cardiff. On the same day I was bitten by a dog, chased by a pig and shouted at by a contestant."
