Rene Russo is to star in new comic book movie 'Thor'.
The 'Thomas Crown Affair' actress will play Frigga who is the mother of the hammer-wielding Marvel superhero.
In the film, Frigga is queen of Asgard and the wife of Norse god Odin - played by Anthony Hopkins.
The movie also features Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki and Natalie Portman as Thor's love interest.
Natalie, 27, recently revealed security around the movie is so tight, she struggles to read her script because it is on watermarked paper.
She said: "I think everyone has gotten more secretive just because of the preponderance of technology that can scam just about anything. It's like you don't get a script anymore that doesn't have watermarks that would identify you if you ever tried to leak anything. The 'Thor' script is hard to read because it's on some weird coloured paper and they have your name in huge letters across every page. Marvel's like some like crazy underground world."
'Thor' is due to be released in 2011.
