'X Factor' twins John and Edward have been nominated for Funniest Double Act at next year's Loaded LAFTAS

John and Edward have been nominated for Funniest Double Act at next year's Loaded LAFTAS.

The Irish twins - who were the star performers on this year's 'X Factor' - will go up against their talent show mentor Louis Walsh and fellow judge Simon Cowell at the awards ceremony.

The brothers, known as 'Jedward', will also compete against Adam and Joe, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer and Miller and Armstrong.

Michael McIntyre leads the nominations in four categories for Funniest Man, Funniest Show On TV, Funniest DVD and Funniest Stand Up.

Michael is up against Harry Hill for Funniest Man and Funniest TV Show.

Loaded Editor Martin Daubney said: "I am more excited about this year's awards than ever before. The list of nominations shows how incredibly diverse British comedy has become, across live stand up, television, radio and film - and it's always good to see that the American sense of humour works so well this side of the pond. As usual, I am hoping that the event in January will be as raucous as ever. We are chuffed to bits to have Durex Ora! sponsoring us this year and I'm looking forward to introducing our lovely host Olivia Lee, on the day."

The ceremony will take place at exclusive London venue The Cuckoo Club on Wednesday 27 January.
