The latest club news

It seems like there are loads of new venues opening in Glasgow at the moment with the likes of Karbon, Boho and Firewater. Now the Classic Grand on Jamaica Street is joining the ranks, opening on 13 October with sets from My Latest Novel and The Grim Northern Social. 14 October brings around new night Porno, featuring Tiny Dancers, Husky Rescue and Slow Club, while regular nights include White Heat (18 October) and The Friday Factory (20 October). Another quality indie venue for Glasgow (see listings and www.classic-grand.com for full details and preview next issue).

If you want to spend a weekend indulging in the best the dance music world has to offer you can’t really go wrong with the Amsterdam Dance Event, which runs from 19-21 October across the city. Nearly every club and space is involved, with over 475 international DJs spinning across the weekend. Whatever kind of beats you’re into you’re sure to find something that satisfies among the likes of Dave Clarke, Bugz in the Attic, Tiësto, DJ Touché and Tiefschwarz. Check www.amsterdam-dance-event.nl for full details of the many events over the long weekend.

Finally we have another competition as EMI launch their huge, three CD Classic Trance Anthems collection. Featuring everything from Underworld and Robert Miles to Zombie Nation and Fragma. And we have five copies to give away. For your chance to win just send an email marked ‘TRANCE’, with your name and address, to promotions@list.co.uk by 19 Oct.
