The latest club news

First up, Solescience wanted to say ‘a huge thanks to all who came down in August despite DJ Heather’s very late cancellation due to the terrorism scare.’ It really was a case of circumstances beyond anyone’s control. However Subculture’s ambassadors Harri & Domenic stepped into the breach for the night and went down a storm. DJ Heather’s appearance has now been rescheduled to 13 October.

Many have lamented the fact there is so little drum & bass in Glasgow. Now Xplict are throwing their hat into the ring, making their Glasgow debut at the Art School with Planet Pendulum on 10 November. Not forgetting the Edinburgh crowd with names like Shy FX (20 October) and Ed Rush and Optical (24 November) guesting at the Bongo Club.

Staying with Bongo Club news, Headspin have also announced a couple of very tasty guests in the shape of David Holmes (7 October) and Norman Jay MBE (2 December).

One of the biggest dates in the DJing calendar is also almost upon us. The DMC World DJ Championships are to be held at the Hammersmith Palais down in London 10 & 11 September hosted by Killa Kela, MC Trip and Billy Biznizz with a DJ display from DJ Enferno showcasing the Live Remix Project 2006. Log onto www.dmcworld.com for tickets and full details.

Even further afield, Rock Star are taking over Es Vive Hotel in Ibiza every second Thursday throughout the season. The programme includes a closing party featuring Glasgow house heroes the Sub Club and Colours on 28 September.
