Singer Paolo Nutini admits being amazed when he sees the effect alcohol has on some people, as it only makes him want to sleep.

Paolo Nutini gets "tired and sick" when he drinks alcohol.

The 'Coming Up Easy' singer doesn't understand the way some people react when they have been drinking alcoholic beverages as they make him want to sleep.

He said: "Alcohol seems to bring out a lot of violence in people but it just makes me a bit merry, then tired and then sick."

The 22-year-old singer added one of the most shocking things about becoming famous is hearing what other people think about you.

He explained: "It's surprising what you find out about yourself. I was walking into a bar a few weeks ago when I heard this girl shouting my name. I thought, 'I'm not turning round,' and she shouted it again, and I thought, 'No, I'm going to keep walking.' Then I heard her say to her friend, 'It's not him anyway, he's not got that big an a**e.' "
