Quentin Tarantino's arousing films
Quentin Tarantino says watching a great movie is like having a sexual experience
Quentin Tarantino believes watching a movie is like having sex.
The 'Inglourious Basterds' director loves making films because they give him so much control over an audience's emotions and reactions.
He said: "I always use sexual metaphors to describe filmmaking, or the effects I'm trying to pull off with an audience.
"I'm trying to bring the orgasm along in just the right way and make you reach orgasm at just the right moment. That's what's great about cinema. To me, there's no other art form that offers gratification so similar to sex.
"I'm the conductor and I'm conducting the audience - their emotions, the rises and falls."
Quentin says he particularly enjoys being able to witness the effect his movies are having on people.
He added to Esquire magazine: "When I finally watch the movie with an audience, that is me enjoying the sex. That is my orgasm. It's watching me doing it to them.
"It's the complete and utter immediate gratification of the experience. I'm the dominant one in that sexual scenario. But when I'm watching someone else's movie, they're doing it to me and that's the way it should be."
