Mark Ronson to join Duran Duran at Edinburgh Castle

Music producer teams up with 80s pop veterans

Duran Duran have confirmed that young music producer Mark Ronson will perform with them at Edinburgh Castle this Thursday, one of two UK appearances this year.

The announcement follows their collaboration in Paris last June, when Ronson re-worked early hits including ‘Girls On Film’ and ‘Rio’. Ronson is currently working with the band on the follow up to their last album, Red Carpet Massacre.

Supporting this performance of 80s pop is the rather younger outfit, Florence and the Machine. Florence played to crowds at Glastonbury and, last weekend, at T in the Park. Organisers promise a gig 'to remember'.

DJ and producer du jour, who souped up Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, performs his own solo show, now going in a more funky electro direction on latest album Uptown Special.

To those whom it may concern (and that's a lot of 30-something women), the Duran boys are rocking the castle this summer.

The foppish 80s yacht-botherers return for their first full UK tour in seven years (although true fans will still be drying out their shoulder pads following their rain-soaked appearance at Edinburgh Castle in 2009), with a new album to punt.
