Cheryl Cole buys crystal golf cart
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole bought her husband Ashley a £19,000 golf cart complete with gold hubcaps, 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery and custom headrests with their initials in Swarovski crystals.
Cheryl Cole spent £19,000 on a customised golf cart for her husband.
The Girls Aloud singer surprised soccer star spouse Ashley Cole with the vehicle, which has been made to look like a Hummer H3 luxury four-wheel drive.
The cart sells for £14,000, but Cheryl reportedly spent an extra £5,000 fitting it out with gold hubcaps, 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery and custom headrests featuring their initials in Swarovski crystals.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Cheryl bought the buggy as a present for Ashley. It's completely over the top, but they both love it. It's Ashley's pride and joy. One of their staff is instructed to make sure the hubcaps are always gleaming.
"There's even a space for Ashley's golf clubs in the back. Ashley loves his motors and through the Mini Hummer would be the perfect way to get around their estate so Cheryl decided to surprise him. It's a lot of fun and is a bit of a statement."
Ashley - who is currently enjoying a romantic break in France with Cheryl - is thrilled with the gift, which he will use to drive around the couple's estate in Oxshott, Surrey.
David and Victoria Beckham also own a Mini Hummer, which they have had fitted with extension pedals and a speed limiter so their sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and Cruz, four, can drive it around their Los Angeles home.
